Our Mission:

Sandhills Community Action program, Inc. maintains a mission to develop viable approaches aimed at generating an improved quality of life for low-income people.  Continuous efforts are made to generate the needed support to improve the prospects for self-sufficiency and independence and to end hopelessness and homelessness.

Community Action changes peoples lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities and makes America a better place to live.  We care about the entire community and we are dedicated to helping people help themelves and each other.




Sandhills Community Action Program continues to conceptualize, develop and implement comprehensive solutions to the problems of low-income people, by responding to their needs and helping them to realize their full potential. Currently the following programs are offered: 

  • Section 8 Housing choice Voucher Program (Rental Assistance for low-income households)
  • Section 8 HCV Family Self-sufficiency Program (Employment and Asset Building)
  • CSBG Self-sufficiency Program (Education and Employment assistance)
  • Jackson Terrace Apartments (Affordable housing for Seniors 62 and up)
  • Single Family Rehabilitation (Home Rennovations for low-moderate income seniors)
  • Housing Counseling (Counseling for any housing need including homeownership)

Sandhills Community Action Program works to tackle dependency on all fronts and provides opportunities for a better future.
